(prcenter.de) Munich - a new software for ultrasonic systems extends the diagnostic possibilities of cardiologists. With the VVI technology of Siemens Kardiologen more data from ultrasonic pictures of the heart receive. The software uses the data, which a physician took up before at a patient, for detailed representations of the heart movement. This visualization by vectors (VVI stands for Velocity Vector Imaging) makes it for the Kardiologen possible, which examines mechanics of the contractions in the heart more simply and faster. Even individual heart segments are quantitatively analyzable in their direction of motion and - speed. With other procedures Kardiologen must compute data such as blood river quantity or load sizes with the hand. VVI makes on push of a button.
According to statements of physicians the VVI technology supplies particularly meaningful results e.g. with the diagnosis of the hypertrophen Kardiomyopathie in such a way specified, to a diseased Verdickung with of the heart muscle, which can lead in some cases to sudden heart death for instance with sportsmen.
