Dessau - ten years grew the quantity of the wastes subject to approval - that imported to Germany are wastes with dangerous contents materials as well as other materials afflicted with environmental risks - like arrears from the trade waste assortment, clarify-dredge or Fäkalien from mass animal husbandry. 2005 decreased/went back the number for the first time. With six million tons 500,000 tons less waste were imported than 2004. For 2006 the Federal Office for Environment Protection (UBA) prognosticates a further decrease around approximately 1.2 million tons. While with the imported goods a change of trend appears, the export of wastes subject to approval will presumably rise. 2005 grew the export over about sieve per cent on 1.1 million tons on. In the year 2006 is to be counted on a duplication of the export. Principal reason for the sinking in and rising export is since June 2005 the valid refuse dumping regulation, which forbids the deposit not pre-treated settlement wastes - like mixed domestic refuse - (diagram 1a and 1b).
Decreased/went back also such imports, which were not intended for the Deponierung, because the wastes originating from Germany stressed the local treatment capacities - for example the refuse incineration - more strongly. The import from wastes to the deposit on dumps increased however altogether, since the import of inorganic wastes rose for removal from Italy strongly (diagram 2).
Particularly reduced the import of remainders from the trade waste assortment, which were spent in the past years in very large quantities, particularly from the Netherlands, for disposal to Germany.
The deposit prohibition does not have significant effects on the import of dangerous wastes - a subset of the wastes subject to approval - for example used solvents or waste oil. The imported quantity rose compared with 2004 around about 0.5 million tons and amounted to in the year 2005 2.1 million tons. The UBA expects a similar value also for 2006. The export with about in each case 0.2 million tons was comparatively small in the past four years.
Also the suggesting increase with the export, strong for the moment, can be attributed to the deposit prohibition. Beside the remainders from the trade waste assortment point above all cable wastes, Fäkalien from mass animal husbandry and mixed domestic refuse a strongly rising tendency to (diagram 3). However these wastes are transported not, as fears before, into the new European Union member states, but into the western neighboring countries, particularly into the Netherlands, to Belgium and into Switzerland. Only the Mitverbrennung of inflammable arrears from waste sorting equipment in Polish cement plants is with a quantity of about 100,000 tons in the year 2006 of importance - just like the export from about 60,000 tons cable wastes to China.
The exported quantity wastes subject to approval - like Eisenschrott or waste paper - does not remain with approximately 16 million tons already for several years constant. The import sank in the year 2005 - after an increase during one period of likewise ten years - on approximately 10.6 million tons.
