Würth solar opens solar factory CISfab in Swabian resounds

Swabian resound - nearly accurately one year after the cut of the spade has Würth solar today in Swabian resounds solemnly the new manufacturing plant for CIS Solarmodule opened: the CISfab. The enterprise breaks thereby a new chapter open of the Photovoltaik, because run for the first time world-wide there from now at CIS Solarmodule in mass production from the volume. CIS Solarmodule get along contrary to the conventional modules without at present limited raw material silicon and apply in industry circles as trend-setting.
“Würth solar the production capacity up to the year end continuously raising and as planned to the turn of the year the full utilization in the CISfab to reach. Thus we are outriders with a future technology of the Photovoltaik and set a milestone in boom-end solar industry”, say Karl-Heinz large, managing director of Würth solar. Starting from 2007 Würth solar becomes annually approximately 200,000 CIS Solarmodule manufactures. This corresponds 14.8 megawatt. In the CISfab starting from 2007 175 coworkers will work, of it 35 at the selling partner Würth Solergy.
Approximately 400 coworkers and loaded guests from politics and economics attended the solemn start-up of the fully automated production line, among them the Prime Minister of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Günther H. Oettinger and Reinhold Würth, chairman of the donation supervisory board of the Würth group. “I am pleased that with the CIS technology by Würth solar an outstanding innovation was not only developed in Baden-Wuerttemberg and was led up to production stage, but am now produced also here”, main header Oettinger for opening out. The Prime Minister stressed that one of the central challenges for a lasting policy was the climatic protection. The key to it lies in a conscious energy policy, which on one energy-mix are based: “We want to make Baden-Wuerttemberg the front runner with the research and with the employment of renewable energies. The CISfab makes in addition an important contribution.”
From the vision to the reality
Würth solar was created 1999 by Reinhold Würth with the goal, a still young of developing much promising solar technology to industriellen production stage further. European Union, federation and country promoted the basic research. The technology as well as the manufacturing technology in close co-operation were continued to develop between Würth solar and the center for solar power and hydrogen research Baden-Wuerttemberg (ZSW). Since the year 2000 Würth operated solarly pilot lines in Marbach/Neckar. Into the building of the new manufacturing plant in Swabian resound invested the Würth group 55 million euro, the highest single investment in the enterprise history of the Würth group. Reinhold Würth describes background: “I was always curious humans, the Photovoltaik fascinate me. Already before the establishment of Würth solar was I the conviction that the CIS technology has a large future.”
Shining prospects for CIS Solarmodule
Würth solar sets with the CIS technology on a promising development of the Photovoltaik. A chemical compound from copper (C), Indium (I) and selenium (s) replaced for the transformation of sunlight in river usual way used and scarce semiconductor silicon at present here. The CIS technology saves a large Potenzial, since it has large development possibilities in the comparison to the silicon technology developed already to a large extent regarding product properties and manufacturing technologies. CIS modules of Würth solar have already at the beginning of mass production production an efficiency of on the average 11.5 per cent and to be thereby on eye level with silicon-based solar modules. They are aesthetic in addition responding and can flexibly be dimensioned. From it interesting application possibilities result: The modules can be integrated for example in semitransparent or printed on execution directly in fronts.
